It is the first day of classes at the University of Arizona, and about six months since I stepped into my own classroom (!). Teaching, to-do lists, department meetings: the start of the semester means getting down to business!

In that spirit, I’m sharing this document called The Art of the Academic Article, which I co-authored as a graduate student and have revised annually ever since. It’s a starting point, not a final word, on publishing academic articles, but it helps to demystify some of the confusion-mongering that shrouds the publishing process. Enjoy the first few weeks of the semester before that Week 4 lull sets in….!
